Impact investing in Australia takes another step forward with two excellent new releases from Impact Investing Australia. These reports document the growing appeal of impact investing as a way to promote social change and financial return.
In March, Impact Investing launched their ‘Impact Investing Australia 2016 Investor Report’ in collaboration with the University of Melbourne. The report surveyed 123 Australian investors with more than $333 billion AUD on their awareness, interest, and activity level in impact investing. Excitingly, investors indicate a desire to triple the size of their impact investing portfolios over the coming five years.
In February, Deloitte Access Economics launched ‘A Practical Guide to Understanding Social Costs: Developing the Evidence Base for Informed Social Impact Investment’ in association with Impact Investing Australia. The goal of the guide is to incite discussion, and provide new tools and measures to provide a better understanding of social costs.
